The Woodlands Tea Room nestles in a delightful setting in the Woodlands of Santon Bridge, Nr Wasdale. The surprise is two-fold - not only are you able to sample some of the tastiest home-made snacks, meals and cakes available anywhere in the District, you can then go next door for a leisurely browse around one of the most innovative craft and gift shops in the west of the country.
The Craft shop has been on site since 1954 and in those days hot drinks were sold from a flask. Since then things have evolved - the craft shop has turned into a veritable institution and the tea room was built about 5 years ago. Quality leather goods and sheepskin are synonymous with the Santon Bridge Craft and Gift Shop. In addition to the quality leather are charming gifts including Pilgrim Jewellery, Beatrix Potter, Border Fine Arts, Children's toys, Outdoor clothing, ceramics, glassware and much much more .....
The bright yet relaxing atmosphere of the Tearoom serving ‘good, wholesome, locally sourced, food' and the quaint ‘log cabin' feel of the Gift Shop makes for a perfect day out.
It's easy to get to from either the A595 from where it is signposted, or the scenic route through Gosforth towards Eskdale.
